ADMISSION
PROCEDURE:
a) Admission is open to Indian Nationals having
the qualification as laid down by the Director General of Civil
Aviation, New Delhi, (Pass in Pre-Degree or 10+2 or equivalent with
Physics and Mathematics for Commercial Pilot License and Pass S.S.L.C.
or equivalent for Private Pilot License. Those who applied for 10+2
or equivalent examinations and awaited result may also apply for
Commercial Pilot License . However; they have to produce the pass
certificate before the commencement of flying). 16 years of age
at the time of submission of application for admission. Preference
with be give to Commercial Pilot License candidates. Those who have
passed Director General of Civil Aviation Ground Subjects for Private
Pilot License & Commercial Pilot License will be given preference
in interview.
Persons
in Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) require written
permission from the respective Headquarters before commencement
of flying.
Non-Indian
Nationals require prior permission from the Director General
of Civil Aviation , New Delhi for admission, and their applications
should be routed through respective embassies or High Commissioner’s
Offices.
Eligibility
of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe and Below Poverty Line
candidates for fee concession will be fixed by the Govt. from time
to time.
b) Prospectus and application forms
are available in the office, on payment of Rs. 700/-
by Demand Draft in favour of the Executive Director, Rajiv
Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
(payable at Thiruvananthapuram). Both males and females are eligible
for admission. The prescribed application form should be filled
and sent to the Academy together with attested copies of all the
documents specified in the application form.
c) On the basis of the applications received, there
will be a written examination / Pilot Aptitude Test
on the following subjects:
1.
Mathematics
2. Physics
3. General Awareness
4. English
( All the questions will be objective type based on 10+2 standard)
Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 50% in the written test,
will be called for interview.
d) Parents of the candidates should also be present
at the time of interview. All original documents will have to be
produced at the time of interview.
e) Applicants who are successful in the interview
will be directed for Class II Medical Examination.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Trainees of all categories up to the Private Pilot License standard
are required to undergo Medical Examination by the doctors approved
by Director General of Civil Aviation before the commencement of
flying. Forms for the above purpose will be supplied to the successful
candidates free of cost.
Candidates
for Commercial Pilot License have to undergo Medical Examination
at the Central Medical Establishment, New Delhi or at the Institute
of Aerospace Medicine, Bangalore.
